Tasting Notes:
Year after year, our Estate Zinfandel is a favorite of our members. So much so that it rarely makes it to the tasting room. Our zinfandel vineyard is terraced
into a south facing hillside and is sparingly irrigated. Like our other wines,
our vineyard management practices are what makes this zinfandel so unique.
During harvest, we utilize the irrigation only at night to hydrate the grapes
after a long day of ripening. This allows the grapes to rejuvenate and get ready
for another day (much like sleep for humans). The grapes are able to stay on
the vines longer into the growing season allowing them to achieve full ripeness
which imparts layered flavors of plum, red fruit flavors, pepper, and earth.
Blend: 80% Zinfandel & 20% Syrah
Alcohol: 16.2% Alc. by Vol.
Barrel: 25% New American Oak Barrels, 75% Neutral American Oak Barrels
